We designed the full mobile experience for Powder, a next-gen personal finance app that prioritizes real human behavior over just numbers and budgets. Powder helps users track expenses, understand their credit standing, manage debts, and make smarter decisions using actionable insights.
What we did:
- Designed a clean, modern light-themed UI using blue as the primary color, with colorful accents for improved visual feedback and clarity.
- Built the complete onboarding experience including account creation, social login, biometrics, and multi-factor authentication.
- Designed subscription flow UI with 7-day free trial and flexible cancellation options.
- Created intuitive screens for searching and linking bank accounts and creditors using services like Plaid and custom integrations (e.g., utilities, student loans, telecom).
- Developed an expense tracker to show bills, due dates, late payments, and abnormal spending behavior.
- Visualized credit score tracking, historical trends, and a unique user-generated financial health rating.
- Designed debt reinvestment tools to suggest optimal use of freed-up payments from paid-off debts.
- Added AI-driven insights to suggest optimal times for saving, planning purchases, and avoiding overspending.
The focus of this project was to combine functionality with empathy—helping users improve their financial health by understanding their habits, not just their data.
